Obituary of Robert F. Hatcher

Our omniscient and loving God, who causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according for His purpose, called a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loved one to eternal rest. Robert Hatcher answered the Master's call and entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 16, 2011 at St. Michael's Hospital in Newark, NJ. He was born on July 24, 1942 in Buckingham, VA to the late Mitchell and Nina Trent Hatcher Gilliam. At an early age, he was converted, baptized, and became a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. He attended public schools in Buckingham. He moved to Newark, NJ and was employed with Federal Metals for many years.
He was joined in wedlock to Dora Sims Hatcher and they provided a loving home for their two daughters, Michelle and Sameerah.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife Dora Hatcher, three daughters, Michelle Sims (Harry) of Parsippany, NJ, Sameerah Hatcher of Orange, NJ, and Candace Gray Scott (Marty) of Buckingham, VA; two sisters, Elaine Jones and Alice Manns of Buckingham, VA; one sister, Bernice Johnson, who preceded him in death; two brothers, Paulus Hatcher (Mary) of Farmville, VA and Douglas Hatcher (Victoria) of Irvington, NJ; two brothers, James and Nell Hatcher, who preceded him in death; stepsisters Myrtle Gilliam of Cumberland, VA and Lilly Kerns of Rahway, NJ; step-brother, Stephney Gilliam (Connie) of Cumberland, VA; mother-in-law, Neater Sims of Cumberland, VA; sisters-in- law, Juanita Crump (Jessie), Dorothy Cosby (Garry), Linda Sims, and Sherry Sims of Cumberland, VA; one brother-in-law, Isiah Johnson who preceded him in death; five grandchildren, Donovan Hatcher, Jasmine and Kayla Sampong, Antonio and Makiesa Scott, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends and very dear friends, Elisha and Jimmy Gray and Lester Brown.
