Obituary of Raymond Earl Boatwright

Obituary Raymond Earl Boatwright was born to Ervin Lee Sr., and Willie Sue Foster Boatwright on October 3, 1962, in Cumberland, Virginia. He was reared in a home filled with love and affection by his father, mother and four brothers. Raymond was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he was, converted and baptized. He attended Cumberland County Public Schools. After leaving school at an early age, he went to work for the family, company, E & W Paving. Later in life he decided to move on and landed a job with Trent's Mill Masonry Joey Haislip Brick Laying Company. Raymond had the most beautiful smile, and he was the friendliest person you would ever meet. He would keep you laughing with his corny jokes. He loved working in the yard keeping it looking good and would say after the fact, "I did this." He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan. Raymond quietly departed this life at his residence in Cumberland. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Kemothy; and his grandparents, Andy & Kish Woodson Boatwright, and Monroe & Virginia Brown Foster. He leaves to cherish loving memories, daughter, Shiloa Parker (Desmon) of Roanoke, VA; son, Raymond Earl Jordan of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Tamia and Levi Parker; mother, Willie Sue Boatwright; three brothers, Ervin Boatwright, Jr., (Doretha), Lester Boatwright (Alice) and Bruce Boatwright (Pearl); one aunt, Mary Allen (Joseph, Sr.); two uncles, Lester and Avon Foster; his devoted friend of twenty-five years, Arlene Booker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers; Joey Haislip, Curtis Foster, Jr., Marc and Charnissa Montgomery The Master Called I'm sorry I had to leave you. My loved ones, oh so dear. But you see, the master called me. His voice was very clear. I had made my reservation, A heaven bound ticket for one. And I knew that he would call me when he felt my work was done. I know that your hearts are heavy because I have gone away. But when the Master called me, I knew I could not stay. Yes, I'm sorry I had to leave you, My loved ones, oh so dear. But you see, the Master called me And, now I'm resting here. Yes! I've crossed over to Glory and to you all I say.
