Obituary of Henderson Trent
Please share a memory of Henderson to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Henderson Trent was born on November 11, 1956, one of three loving children born to George and Lucy Trent.
Henderson accepted Christ at an early age and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Cumberland, Virginia.
He attended Cumberland County Schools. He was a dependable worker and held jobs as a forklift operator, laborer, and bricklayer. He built large buildings, such as hospitals, schools, courthouses, and restaurants, which he enjoyed doing.
Henderson had a good spirit and he enjoyed life whenever anyone was around him. He really enjoyed his devoted friends, Bruce Tate, Ramin (Meme) Trent, Walter Langhorne, Robert Lee Carter, Curtis (Romie) Foster, Jr., Arthur Crump, and Adolphus Allen. He was always glad to see them and to spend time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nancy Trent, and Berta Langhorne; five aunts; one uncle.
With his loving cousin, Easter Harris by his side, Henderson was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2023.
He is survived by four aunts; Louise Hobson of New York, Marion Phelps of Cumberland, VA, Ada Langhorne of Cumberland, VA, and Shirley Lee of Leesburg, VA; one uncle; Albert Trent of Cumberland, VA; many cousins and friends.
Special thanks to his cousins, Easter Harris, Betty Jones, Marion and David Simmons, who cared for him when his health started to decline.
His Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of him as gone away his journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort where, there are no days and no years.
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
