Obituary of Brendell Hatcher Hatcher

Brendell Hatcher, a beautiful rose faded away on January 24, 2011 at 12:45pm into the hands of a Loving God. She was born on January 5, 1925 to John Hatcher and Pearl Langhorne Hatcher. She was born in a loving home with the love and affection of three sisters and one brother. In the year of 1937 she received Christ in her heart under the leadership of Rev. Anthony Green and baptized by Rev. Shelton Anderson. She became a dedicated member of the Center Union Baptist Church where she served God and did His will by serving others. She enjoyed whatever task was given and did it to the best of her ability. Brendell attended school in Cumberland and Powhatan Counties, graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1943. She furthered her education at Virginia Union University. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Cumberland County School System. In the year of 1944 she met and married James W. Hatcher , to this union a daughter, Wanda was born. They were blessed with a son, Frolin Hatcher. Bren, as many called her was very active in her community and the church. She served as Superintendent of the Sunday School( until death). She was a member of the Missionary Ministry, Sunday School Convention, Senior Choir, Combined Choir, Unlimited Six Club, and Ballsville Voting Precinct (44years). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; three sisters, Almeade, Florine, and Nadene; one brother, John William; and one grandson, Terrence. She leaves to cherish her fond memories a daughter, Wanda Evans (Clyde); a son, Frolin Hatcher (Helen); two grandchildren, Dante Evans (Rubyaida) and Dwayne Hatcher (Flora); four great-grandchildren, Justis, LaNya, and Dante', Jr. Evans and Jaden Cruise; one brother, Frederick Goff; two sisters-in-law, Arnetha Hatcher and Gladys Hatcher and a host of devoted and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends one devoted, Pearl Smith. Howard and Betty Clark were two dedicated neighbors who looked out for her until she went to reside with her daughter.
