She was…
The 3 am one-phone-call if you get pulled over in a strange town.
Our loudest applause for any accomplishment.
Our standard bearer.
Our measuring stick. Math reference. :-)
The soundtrack of our youth.
Our nurse/protector, first for Mom, then for Dad, as they declined.
Our sister FRIEND.
She wore it all as though this 200-lb garment of ‘having everyone’s back’ was weightless.
I mean, man, she could fly like a bird in the sky. (Thanks Nikki G.)
So much love. So much laughter.
Such a legacy in her precious ones left now to our care while on Earth.
We love you, sis. Ever and always.

Anna Bradley Johnson posted a condolence
Sunday, July 3, 2022
My name is Anna Bradley Johnson; Carlene Lynette Eggleston Johnson was my first cousin, her mother Seidah Shaneed (formally Blanche Edith Bradley) was my very special “Aunt Edith”. Cleveland Granville Bradley and Phoebe Harris Bradley were our grandparents.
I wish to give my deep sympathy to Alana (Julian), Waheedah, Kathy (James), Men Ma? Aim R?, Cameron and Zoe, and Aaron Jr.
It is clear that all the good seeds planted, and works Carlene did, the lives she touch in her 72 years on this earth will live on for centuries to come. Well done Carlene, Life lived!
I am sorry I never got a chance to know Carlene on a more personal level, but my whole life I have heard father Raymond Cleveland Bradley, my mother Alice Logan Bradley, and my eldest sister Mary Jane Bradley Barnes speak of Carlene. It was always with great admiration, love and kinship. After reading her obituary, and seeing what a wonderful spirit she was on this earth, I deeply regret I didn’t have a personal relationship with my cousin Carlene other than being in the same room at family functions and ceremonies. I did however get the chance to know Carlene’s mother my “Aunt Edith” very well. During the 1960’s Aunt Edith would spend one or two weeks out of the year with her beloved brother and his family, my dad Raymond. She was so loved by me, my brothers, and my sisters. She would hold my baby brother tight and rock him to sleep every night in my mom's old rocking chair. Loved!
