The Auld Gray Knight (in memory of cousin King Gray) The auld battered knight in dented armor sat by the edge of the field, under a spreading oak, his helmet off and his gray beard moistened by sweat from his ruddy face. I approached the old knight and said, “Hello, sir, from what battle come you?” He gazed directly at me with piercing eyes and replied,” I come from a battle right here, before you. Do you not know it?” I said, “No, Sir Knight, I know no battle in this vicinity, no armies clashing.” He said, “The battle is all around you, hither and yonder, all about.” I frowned, still puzzled. He continued, “The battle of which I speak is the battle between good and evil. It is everywhere, in towns and villages, in houses and castles, and even in churches. It is in the heart as well. It is a constant battle, as old as the ages, and will continue till the end of humanity. Do you not know this battle?” He leaned his head back and I gave him a drink of water from a flask. He sipped slowly and sighed sorrowfully. The knight spoke further, “Evil cannot be allowed to win. The soul of humanity is at stake, but we need fresh warriors, young people, strong in sinew and steadfast in faith.” The auld knight pierced me with his eyes, drew his sword from its scabbard, knelt before me, and handed me his sword, which I received, somehow being unable to refuse. He then vanished, leaving his armor. I put on his armor and felt an energy transfix me where I stood. I felt strong as never before. My vision grew keen, and my muscles firm. I then stepped into the battle joined. rab 27 October 2020

Wilnette Carey lit a candle

I loved our Cousin "Mike" (as we called him). He was a quiet, unassuming gentleman. He spoke very little of his experience. God Bless him for his military service and for his kindness and respect. Wilnette Carey, granddaughter of Willie Gray. From the remaining family of Willie Gray, we are deeply saddened by King Moses' passing. Please know that our love and prayers are flowing towards you and our hearts are filled with hope that God will comfort you and provide you with peace today and always.

Mr. Gray was a joy to be with. The talks we had were priceless and we laughed together often. I will truly miss him. My condolences to the Gray family.
