Obituary of Marjorie K. Keyes

Marjorie Branch Keyes was born on May 24th, 1929 in Powhatan, Virginia and entered into eternal rest on June 27th, 2020. She was the twelfth of fourteen children born to the blessed marriage of the late Linnie and Rosa Hudson Branch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Willis Keyes, her parents, and 11 of her siblings. She joined Hollywood Baptist Church at an early age & received her formal education in Powhatan, VA.
As a young adult she moved to New York City, where she met and married Ralph Keyes. While in N.Y., Margie was employed in the garment district, by the U.S. Postal Service, and by Bankers Trust. She and Ralph also owned and operated Moskeyee Hardware in Harlem. They resided there for several years and then moved to Augusta, GA where they joined 1st Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. While in GA, she worked for Bank of America until she retired in 1996. Later moving back to VA, she reunited with Hollywood Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories, 1 step daughter Jackey, 3 grandchildren, - all of N.Y.; 2 sisters - Marian Miller of New Haven, CT, and Tessie Bates of Powhatan, VA.; very special nieces, Margie Bates of Alexandria, VA and Florine Bell of Powhatan, VA.; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
