Obituary of Lucy Malinda Barley

Lucy Malinda Barley entered peacefully into eternal rest on February 20, 2020 at Bon Secours Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Trent, Sr. and Sue Crump Trent and was born in Cumberland County, Virginia on August 18, 1950. She was baptized and joined The Center Union Baptist Church at an early age. Lucy graduated from Luther P. Jackson High School in Cumberland, Virginia. Lucy was a teacher at Cumberland Elementary School for 46 years until her retirement. She was later employed with the Creative Learning Center in Farmville, VA where she loved working with children. She was a caring and loving person who loved everyone. She loved spending time with her family, friends, cooking and watching her favorite teams, San Francisco 49ers and the L. A. Lakers, especially Lebron James. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Trent, Sr. and Sue Crump Trent. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Randall "Ran" Barley; son, Quindall "Quinn" Barley; two sisters, Nannie Lewis and Susie Robinson (Charles); one devoted and dedicated sister, Ethel Trent (Alfred); two brothers, Floyd Trent, Jr. (Lottie) and John Trent (Shirley); brother-in-law, Morven Barley (Lillian); sister-in-law, Lucy Anderson (George); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Her Smile Though her smile is gone forever, and her hand we cannot touch. We still have so many memories of the one we loved so much. Her memory is now our keepsake, which with we'll never part.
