Obituary of Jesse Melvin White

Jesse Melvin White was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 7, 1948. He was called home to rest on June 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father Jesse and mother Irene Green. He attended Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas and later in years, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served for 11 years. He worked in General Supply for 20 years and retired in 2000. While in the air force, he met and married his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, El'Loiuse White. From this union, they had 3 daughters, Sherea Robinson, Jessie Gilliam, and Hisa White, 1 adopted daughter, Kayla White, and 1 son-in-law, Sim Robinson. They also had 8 grandchildren - Sim, Adrian, Kyvonne, Jalawnte, Philippe, Jasmine, Ashley, and Whitney. 1 beloved great-grandson who went to heaven after only a few days, Baylin Robinson, and 5 other great grandchildren. He's got 2 deceased brothers, Gilbert and Rayford Lee. 1 deceased sister, Catherine. Jesse also has 5 other brothers and 6 sisters, as well as a loving sister-in-law who for many years, has always been by his side and his buddy, her husband, Linda and Bobby Parker and a host of other in-laws, relatives and friends. Brother Jesse was a long-time active member of the Powhatan Cruisers, which is an antique motor club that he loved so dearly. He was also a big Dallas Cowboys fan. Brother Jesse was a devoted member of Hollywood Baptist Church since June 11, 2013 where he ushered on Sundays and always made himself available whenever he was needed and he loved his pastor Otis Lockhart and first lady, Carole. He remained there until he was called home. Remembering My Husband & Friend Well Jesse, 48 years have come and gone. Wow! That went by real fast. Of course, it didn't seem so at the time. Like so many others, we have had our ups and downs, but what made you stand out was the humor you gave to so many, including me, believe it or not. In the midst of my tears, I'm still laughing at some of your wackiest moments, of course they were so out there I thought some folks would think you were a little looney. Like the time you went into the store and shouted to the checkout clerk - "Do you all sell any chitterlings up in here?", and I had to tell you to shut up as everybody else appeared to be afraid to say anything. You often went up to the front door and hollered "hello world." I don't know why you'd do that because you never got a response. Everybody I've come in contact with after expressing their condolences has had a crazy story to tell. Even our children had times when they thought you were a hot mess. Your love for antique cars was beyond words. My front yard speaks for itself. In spite of it all, thanks for being my husband and the father of my children. Being your wife is the thing I would not have changed. While there are others trying to get wings, you're worrying somebody about a 57 Chevy. Love you baby, Rest in Peace
