Obituary of Corine Victoria Hatcher

Corine Victoria Brown Hatcher was born on July 10, 1928 to Willie Mande (Scruggs) Brown & Percy E Brown in Cumberland VA. Corine was the sixth of 12 children. Virginia, Kearny, Robert, Dorothy, Delphine, Margaret, Alice, Elmo, Preston, Royal & Betty. Corine attended school in Cumberland County, VA. She moved to New Jersey and was married on June 25, 1947 to James Herman Hatcher of Richmond, VA. There were six children born from this union. Corine worked occasional jobs such as head cook for a convalescent facility and an after-school aide for a short period of time, but her primary job and her area of comfort was being a mom and a household manager. She provided childcare over the years for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews etc. They affectionately called her Mom, Nana, or Grandma because she truly had a passion for children. She was also called "Ma" by so many of her children's friends, but family always called her "Cor." Corine loved clothes & shoes shopping. She was a real "fashionista." She loved to cook and was known for her cooking skills. She had a sweet disposition and a heart of gold, whether sick or well, discomfort or pain, Corine continued to smile until the very end of life. She departed this life on Feb 11, 2019. She leaves five children to mourn after her James (Barbara), Walter (Brigitte), Paul (Alice), Charlene and Margaret. She is predeceased by her husband James, her son Gregory, her parents Willie Maude Brown and Percy Brown, her siblings Robert, Virginia, Kearny, Margaret (Earlene), Delphine and Preston. She also leaves to cherish her memory her siblings Dorothy Foster, Alice Gregory, Elmo Brown (Lucy), Betty Brown and Royal Brown. As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, who were dear to her heart
