Obituary of Leroy Coles

Mr. Leroy Coles III, son of Lucy Coles and the late Leroy Coles, Jr. was born on November 27, 1978 in Richmond, Virginia. At an early age he was converted, baptized and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He attended Cumberland County Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1997. He worked numerous jobs, his last being the ABC Warehouse. Leroy better known as "Huckie" was a fun-loving guy who loved to cook. He was friendly and loved being with family and friends. For a number of years, he has been in declining health and departed this life at VCU Health Systems on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in Richmond, VA. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Lucy Coles; son, Elijah; daughter, Mya; grandmother Juanita Coles; 3 aunts, Lenora Alston (Joel), Charlotte Smith and Cynthia Allen; 5 uncles, Elmus Mosby (Betty), Ronald Coles (Lisa), Gregory Coles (Gail), Donald Coles (Vee Anne), Steve Coles (Patricia); great aunts; great uncles; nieces; nephews; a god mother, Judy Brown; cousins and friends. God knew that Huckie was tired and a cure was not to be. So, he put his arms around Huckie, and whispered, "Come to me". The Golden Gate stood open. God knew you needed rest. His garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best. Although we cannot touch you, you're never really gone. For in the hearts of us who love you, your memory lives on.
