Obituary of Percell Thomas Austin

Percell Thomas Austin, 88, of Brooklyn, New York, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 6, 2018.
He was born in Goochland County, Virginia, on December 11, 1929 Percell was one of eleven children born to his parents, Fred and Eva Austin leaving behind only two sisters from this group. He was reared and educated through Central High School. Percell accepted Christ during the homegoing services of a brother and was later baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Goochland, Virginia.
After completing high school, Percell enlisted in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged, he relocated to Brooklyn, where he remained until being called home. He worked in New York City in a plumbing sales position until he retired. Percell enjoyed his yearly visits to Virginia to be with his two sisters, his favorite nieces, Carolyn and Enaise, along with all his nephews.
He is preceded in heaven by his daughter, Priscilla Tyler, parents, Fred and Eva Austin, and his many siblings including Nelson, Howard and Fred Austin Jr., Mamie Booker, Helen Austin, Grace Freeman, Eva Lucille Austin and Elsie Green.
Percell is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Austin; four daughters, Sylvia McDuffie (Lee), Lois Simpson Delk (Karl), Theresa Simpson, and Gloria Daniels; two sisters, Hazel Taylor and Carrie Barrett; eight grandchildren including Derrick Tyler (Kionna), Clinton Carter, Leon Young, LaTanzia Simpson, Anthony Barbouille, David Simpson, Dianna Daniels, and Arthur Langaigne; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family.
A special thanks goes out to his caregiver, Mr. Alexander Markin of Personal Touch Home Care, who kept Percell looking well and hydrated. Also, the family appreciated the services offered by Compassionate Care Hospice Services.
