Obituary of John Leroy Clark

Mr. John Leroy Clark (affectionately known as Uncle Roy) was born on September 11, 1953 in Farmville, Virginia to the late LaVarre Smith and Katherine V. Clark. He departed this life at his residence on August 17, 2018 Uncle Roy received his education from schools in Cumberland, Virginia and Newark, New Jersey. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served from March 1976 – April 1979. While serving in the Army. Uncle Roy married Ms. Linda Perry. Uncle Roy was a kind, caring, and giving person who shared his love with everyone. He never met a stranger. Uncle Roy loved the Philadelphia Eagles! Go Eagles! He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, two brothers, three uncles, two aunts and two nephews. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his caring wife, Linda of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Lisa Palmer of FL; a brother-in-law, Michael Palmer of NJ; 13 nieces, Hazel and Lynne Goode of PA; Regina Gooden and Lia Smith of NJ; Bridgette Trent (Al) of VA; Jackie Clark of VA; Edwina Palmer (Wesley) of VA; Cheryl Butler (Elroy) of VA; Omega Smith of VA; Angela Brown (Will) of VA; Lanell Eanes (Royal) of VA; Shrunde Clark of NC; Dorothea Johnson ( Travis Sr.) of TN; a niece-in-law, Louise Goode of VA; an adorable aunt, Janie (Tinie) Brown of VA; a very special and devoted cousin, Kathy Johnson of VA; and a host of "special" great nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends
