Obituary of Robert Lee Wade

Robert Lee Wade, Sr. departed this earth to go to his Heavenly home on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Farmville, Va. where he resided for a short period of time after a brief illness. Robert was born on April 7, 1936 to the late Irene Anderson Wade and Garrison Wade in Columbia, Va. He joined Pleasant View Baptist Church at an early age. Robert loved to be outside. He especially liked working in his garden and giving away vegetables to family and friends. Robert went to school in Cumberland, Va. He drove tractor trailers for almost 40 years and worked various other jobs including Taylor's Classic Body Shop. He leaves to mourn his loss six children, Irene Wade, Naomi Northington (Charlie), Gwendolyn Alston (Skip), Robert Wade, Jr., Gregory Wade and Arlene Wade; three brothers, John Wade (Minnie), Bennie Wade (Naomi), and Garrison Wade Jr.; three sisters, Rebecca Wade, Janie Fannings, and Rose Parish; one aunt, Beatrice Wade; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including two devoted, Howard and Earl Mayo. Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Wade. God knew that you were so tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whisper "Come to me" The Golden Gate stood open God knew you needed rest, His garden must be beautiful For he only takes the best. Although we cannot touch you You're never really gone, For in the hearts of us who love you Your memory lives on. The Family!
