Obituary of Linda Mae Garrant

Linda Mae Garrant, age 72, died on Monday, January 1, 2018, at her residence in Goochland County after a battle with cancer. Linda Mae was born on January 10, 1945. Linda spent many years as a loving mother, rearing her family and eventually joining the workforce. She was employed throughout Goochland County Public Schools as a cafeteria cook where she was dearly loved. She will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, co-workers, and the kids she touched at the school. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Morris of Goochland, and brother, Royal Lee Morris. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Garrant, Jr.; six sons, Charles (Lisa), Jesse (Marion), James, Anthony, Nathan (Evesta), and Michael; four daughters, Priscilla Garrant, Nicole Maldonado (Robin), Laura Lee Jackson (Ronnie), and Akena Garrant; over twenty grandchildren; two brothers, William and Charles (Chew) Morris; two sisters, Geneva Trent and Barbara Morris Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Gabriel Trent, Jr. and George Garrant; five sisters-in-law, Laverne Morris, Annie Brice, Evelyn Johnson, Helen Sharp, and Virginia Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special mention is made to all of Linda's beloved coworkers throughout the Goochland County School System. Linda is already missed and will continue to be missed for her infectious laugh and loving ways. Not a day will go by without her in our thoughts. Soar on, Linda. May your spirit be free in heaven.
