Obituary of Rashad Jamel Brown

Rashad Jamel Brown stepped from his home into the long arms of Jesus Christ on May 13, 2010. Rashad was born the only child to Wallace (Mel) Brown and Lolita Bell on August 7, 1990 in Richmond, VA. He attended school in Powhatan County and graduated in June of 2008. He participated in the Powhatan chapter of ROTC and loved any type of electronics. His passion and desire was to one day own his own electronic business. Rashad was baptized at the age of 8 and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Powhatan, VA. Anyone who knew Rashad had to love him. He was known for being a jokester and comedian. He could mock just about anyone, all done in fun and love. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his parents, Lolita Bell and Wallace Brown; his daughter, Alyssa Sky Wood; his grandmothers, Juanita Bell and Shirley Johnson; his great-grandmother Blanche Gillis; aunts, LaTanya Bell, Tanya Ross, Cheryl Brown-Fields, Danita Brown; his godparents Earl and Helen Hobson, Charlotte Jackson, and Tertia Lewis; devoted friend James "PJ" Simmons; many cousins, and a number of other relatives and friends.
