Obituary of Shelia T Hardy

Sheila Thornton Hardy was born to Annie Thornton and the late Floyd E. Johnson on November 27, 1966 in Cumberland, Virginia. She was reared in a home with love and affection.
At an early age Sheila confessed Christ as her savior was baptized and joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church. As a child she attended the public schools of Cumberland County, Virginia where she graduated with the class of 1985. After graduation she held numerous jobs to include Bojangles, Days Inn, McDonalds, K-Mart, Target, with her final two being Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center and Stop — In Food Store.
In July 1989 Sheila married her High School sweetheart Kevin Leigh Hardy. With this union one daughter was born Dominique.
She was a devoted Mother, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother. She was a stylish and fashionable person who also wore a bright and full smile to set it off. She was a true and devoted friend who would help anyone in need. Even when she was in pain and tired she never complained.
On Monday October 3, 2016 she departed this life in Cumberland, Virginia doing what she loved to do and did so well "Cooking".
She was preceded in death by her husband Kevin, father Floyd and paternal grandparents Henry and Susie Thornton.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories her children Dominique Erno (David) and Talayna Thornton, two grandsons Daz'mir and Daijiro Erno, Fiancé Karl Jackson, parents Annie Thornton and William "Earl" Ross, sister Shirley Barksdale (James) step brother Theodore Johnson (Anita), two god-daughters Royeshia Thornton and Kianna Scott, two aunts Betty Dabney and Mary Johnson, six uncles James Thornton (Linda), Taylor Thornton (Carolyn), Herman Johnson (Barbara), Robert Johnson (Jessie), Stanley Johnson and Raymond Ross Sr. (Hazel), two nieces Shaunteshia and Lateshia Thornton, three nephews Earl "MAN MAN" Thornton the best nephew in the world, Jamal and Marcus Johnson, two devoted cousins Susie "Goldie" Thornton Booker and Anita "NeNe" Marshall, a devoted friend Carshena Epps.and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
