Obituary of Julia Christine Hampton
Please share a memory of Julia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Julia answered the call from her heavenly Father and went to the kingdom prepared for her by an all wise, loving, and just God. Today we celebrate the life of our daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend. We pay tribute to a loving, kind, and loyal woman of the Lord who has touched so many lives. Heaven has truly gained another beautiful angel.
Julia was the loving daughter of Melvin and Marian Hampton. She was born at The Medical College Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on April 4, 1957. She lived in Cartersville, Virginia and was the youngest of four girls.
She was educated through the Cumberland High school system. While living in Virginia, Julia became a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cartersville at an early age. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. She enjoyed a simple life with her siblings as they grew up until she moved to New Jersey in 1977.
Julia relocated to Morristown, New Jersey and began a long career providing services in several hospitals. She worked as a dedicated food service worker and custodian. She provided services for East Orange Veterans Hospital, Morris View Nursing Home/Sodexo (25 years), and Mount Kimball Rehabilitation Center (10 years). She was a diligent worker despite her health complications. She always displayed effort and dedication and was appreciated and respected for all the work she did. She received awards for employee of the month, perfect attendance, and for her valuable and devoted services. While working at Morris View Nursing Home she met the love of her life, Joseph Johnson and they had a long lasting
relationship. She was looked upon as a second mom to her nieces and nephews and there was nothing she would not do for them.
Julia was the "life saver" of the family. She helped everyone in every way she could, she wanted everyone to be happy and gave her heart to all. In addition to Julia's love for her family and friends, she loved to read her Bible, travel to Atlantic City, Wildwood, and visit her home back in Virginia. Julia loved to cook and her favorite food to make was her delicious baked chicken. She loved listening to all the latest songs on the radio and would dance to them all. She will always be remembered as a cheerful, fun, loving, and hard-working woman.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called home his precious child, Julia Christine Hampton on Tuesday, February 24, 2015at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey and set her free. She was freed from all the bondages and strongholds she faced here on Earth. She was predeceased by her aunt, Mary Helen Hampton-Wade a.k.a "Mammie" and her best friend, Gladys Lewis.
Her loving memories will be cherished by: her parents, Melvin and Marian Hampton; three sisters, Bernice Crump, Marian "Louise" Taylor, and Edith Hampton-Keita; six nephews and nieces, Freddie a.k.a "Bo", Tasha, Mario, Anthony, Cree, and Melvin; four great-nephews and nieces, Quentin, Omari, Madisyn, and Noah; her uncle, Leroy and aunt, Orene Hampton, her aunt, Katherine and uncle, Weldon Montague; three brothers-in-law, Freddie Crump, Anthony Taylor, and Mohamed Keita; close friends, Edward "Butch"Morton, her supervisor Seymour, who was like a brother to her, and a host of other
