Obituary of Andrea Vanessa Brown

Andrea Vanessa Brown, a daughter of the late William Clay and Zoa Johnson, was born on September 7, 1954 in Chesterfield, Virginia. At an early age she accepted Christ and later joined the Petersville Baptist Church in New Canton, Virginia, where she remained a faithful member until God called her home. On June 22, 1974 she was joined in wedlock to Royal C. Brown, Sr. and from this union one son was born, Royal C. Brown, Jr. "Charlie Brown". Andrea best known as Peanut, received her education in the Richmond Public School System. She was employed with Sydney and Hundley Furniture where she worked as a receptionist. In her spare time she served as a Lifeguard. She also worked at North Carolina Mutual Insurance for 15 years until her health began to decline. Andrea found her strength in reading the Daily Word and quoting it to the people around her. She also enjoyed calling her family and friends to check on them on a regular basis. She departed this life suddenly on December 24, 2014 in Richmond, Virginia. Andrea was preceded in death by one brother, Maxwell Branch, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Royal C. Brown, Sr.; one son, Royal C. Brown, Jr.; two grandchildren; Miori and Myli; two brothers, Juan Gaskins (Claudia) and Ronnie Johnson; one sister, Tonya Johnson (Carlton); five sisters-in-law, Bettie Brown, Dorothy Foster, Delphine Dabney, Alice Gregory, and Corine Hatcher; one brother-in-law, Percy "Elmo" Brown, Jr. (Lucy) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, two devoted friends Joan Jones and Vinnie Banks.
