Obituary of Robert Count Ghana Pettiford

Robert Count Ghana Pettiford, son of Clarence James Pettiford and the late Gwendolyn R. Booker was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on October 23, 1958. He was baptized on December 8, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He attended high school at Thomas Edison Technical, Elizabeth, NJ until June 1974. He then went on to receive his GED Diploma in 1975 from C.E.T.A. Elizabeth, NJ. He was employed by Hennessy Taxi, Elizabeth, NJ in July 1976 until November 1987. He then attended Tre' Bor International Training Academy for OSHA March 1995 where he was employed until illness prevented him from working. "Robbie", as known by all of his family and friends was a very wonderful, fun-loving man. He had a great spirit and loved his family very much. To know him was to love him because of the joy and laughter that surrounded you when you were in his presence. Two years ago, Robbie health started to decline and he departed this life on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Trinitas Regional medical center in Elizabeth, NJ. He leaves to cherish fond memories; two children, Maketha "Jasmine" Thomas and Rajhn "Jabril" Oates; three sisters, Eve Pettiford (Lavar) of Florida, Dana Pettiford of New Jersey and Jill Dandridge (Terrance) of New Jersey; one brother, which preceded him in death, Josh Pettiford; one uncle, Leroy Pettiford of New Jersey; two aunts, Elaine Stevens of New Jersey and Jean Smith of Texas; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; three special friends; Lois Sheffield, Johnny Wiggins and Ricky; one special "cuz" Geraldine Key and two special guardians; Mr. James Scott, Sr. which
