Obituary of Jessie Lee Crump

Jessie Lee Crump was born in Cumberland County, Virginia on July 19, 1936 to the late Judy Crump.
At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Center Union Baptist Church where his membership remained. He served as the church's sexton for many years until his health begin to fail.
After school, Jessie moved to Baltimore to seek work. Many years later, he moved to Richmond, Virginia where he met and married his first wife, the late Grace Dungee Crump. Jessie had many jobs during his stay in Richmond. However, in 1980 he begin working for H. E. Satterwhite, Inc.as a Truck Driver for over 20 years until he retired in 2000. After retiring, he moved back to Cumberland where he joined in wedlock to Juanita Finley.
Jessie was a kind and loving person who was always willing to help family and friends. Even when he wasn't feeling his best, he never complained. His smiling face, kind and generous ways will be missed by his family, friends, and the community.
On Sunday, February 16, 2014 our hearts were sadden when Jessie was called from labor to rest. He was preceded in death by his mother.
He leaves to cherish: his loving wife, Juanita Finley; two step sons, Hishorn Finley and Lawrence Finley; three step grandchildren, Yalona Finley, Yamir Finley and Amber Jones; two step great grandchildren, Brianna and Taniyah; onebrother, Linwood Crump; three sisters, Dorothy Dozier, Emma Jones and
Kathleen Crump; mother-in-law, Neater Bell Sims; six sisters-in-law, Nannie Hatcher (Douglas), Dora Hatcher, Dorothy Cosby (Garry), Linda Sims, Sherry Sims, and Parena Crump; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, several devoted, Crawford Crump (Doris), Freddie Crump (Bernice) and friends, two devoted, Ernest Booker (Patricia) and Charles Crump (Susan).
