Obituary of Edna Florence Brown

Edna Florence "Brownie" Brown was born May 22, 1921 to the late Joseph and Louise Morris in Powhatan, Virginia. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2014.
She attended Loganville School in Trenholm, VA. She joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age until she met the "Love of her life".
Edna married Wallace Brown on July 29, 1939. At that time she began worshipping with her husband at Greenbrier Baptist Church and soon became a member. In their many years of marriage, many children received the blessing of parental love of Wallace and Edna.
Soon after their marriage, Edna and Wallace moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey, where she had several jobs, her favorite being the Jewish "Y". She was a dietitian and remained until her retirement.
Edna was preceded in death by the love of her life, Wallace. After forty-two years of marriage and her sister, Dorothy Hicks.
Left to cherish her memory is her Godson, James Lee Scott; devoted nephew, Stanley Hicks; devoted nieces and great nieces, Roslyn Hicks, Kelly Hicks, Crystal Robertson and caregiver/great niece, Trisha Hayes. Special nieces, Geraldine Key (Oscar), Ellen Hall (David), and Wilnet Scott (James); sister, Thelma Branch; sister -in-law, Fannie Brown and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, those being Dion Blow and Cheryl Dinkins, (her squirrel) Jean Carey; a great-great niece and a great- great nephews that she cherished as her grandchildren and they in returned cherished and loved her, Linwood Hill and De Aricka Parham.
No one was a stranger to Edna Brown. Her home was one of love and acceptance. She would feed you and drown you with her "sweet tea". You left her company knowing that if no one else made you feel loved, "Auntie" did.
