Please share a memory of Latiera to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Thursday, January 07, 2010, Latiera "Toot" Charmise Langhorne slipped away from her home in Cumberland, VA into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Latiera was born on August 15, 1995 in Farmville, VA., to Maria Booker- Langhorne and the late Wayne Edwin Langhorne.
She attended school in Cumberland County until she became ill in June 2008. Latiera was being home schooled by Mrs. Wendy Tillet. She accepted Christ and was baptized in December of 2009. She enjoyed doing hair, taking care of the kids and she was striving to be a nail technician. She has inspired all of us to "Never Give Up'. With all that Latiera was going through she never complained.
Latiera had an inspiring smile that brighten any dark day. She loved pink and purple polka dots. She also loved her dog AJ and enjoyed playing with him.
Latiera was preceded in death by her father Wayne Edwin Langhorne. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted mother Maria Booker- Langhorne, devoted honorable step-father Dennis Smith, two sisters Franchelle and Montesa, on brother Jonathan. Two step-sisters Dasha & Madison and one step-brother Khalil, maternal great grandparents Jeff and Eartha Jackson, maternal grandparents Burley and Carrie Booker, paternal grandparents John and Elsie Langhorne, Five aunts Coretta Booker, Irs (Michael) Brown, Cheryl (William) Rosser, two very special to her Brenda (William) Taylor, and Teresa Clark, two uncles Byron and Eric Booker, one niece Amaya Booker, one nephew Antonio Morse, Godmother Lillie Jones, two special cousins La'Keita Clark and Zyaira Booker, her best friends Mierra Edwards and Maya Woodson and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her family Latiera created an additional family with honorary grandparents Robert and Jimmie Brown, Florence Gregory, Ed and Alberta Bartee, Sr. and Helen Smith, honorary aunts Monise (Nisey) Brown, Shirley Barksdale, Theresa Brown, Shelia Gregory, Melissa Edwards, and Cherry Smith, uncles Malik DaSilva and Sam Edwards, Sr., and special friends David Ellerson, Antoine Morse and a host of others that was very special to her, too many to name, but you know who you are.
