Obituary of Paul Junius Brown
Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Paul J. Brown, lovingly known to some as, "Tootie" and "Big Daddy," was born on September 24, 1947, in Cumberland, Virginia. Paul was the third child born to Gordon and Aretha Mayo Brown, who preceded him in death.
Paul was educated in the Buckingham County Public Schools. At an early age, he was baptized and joined the family's church home, Petersville Baptist Church. As a young adult, Paul ventured out of his adoring and familiar surroundings in Buckingham County to explore a new world in Jersey City, New Jersey. For 30 years, he was employed as a maintenance technician at Steven's Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey until his retirement in 2010. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, with a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening, Paul was a longtime devoted member of the Tri-State Hunt Club.
On July 12, 1975, Paul was married to his loving wife, the late Vera Morris Brown. This union lasted for 28 years. Paul was a caring and loving father to his daughter, Alberta Medina, his son, Rudy Morris, and Goddaughter Miriam Jackson.
Paul dedicated his life to serving others, always extending a helping hand to anyone in need. His jovial and kindhearted temperament was an invaluable link in our family chain and will genuinely be missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, Alberta Medina (daughter), Rubin Morris Jr. (son), Miriam Jackson (Goddaughter), his loving brothers, Walter V. Brown (Mary), Lindsey L. Brown (Gloria), and Allen C. Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Brother Barry J. Brown preceded him in death.
