Obituary of Alice Irene Sims Miles

Alice Irene Sims Miles, 61, was born October 6, 1951 in Cumberland County, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gary Turner Sims and Georgia Anna Harris Sims. Alice confessed to Christ and was baptized at a very young age, joining Tearwallet Baptist Church, Cumberland County, VA; and continued to worship there until failing health. Alice was joined in holy matrimony with Lynwood Carroll Miles, Sr. on May 7, 1971. To this union three children were born- Carol, Allison, and Lynwood, Jr. Alice worked in the Cumberland School System as an Instructional Assistance. Alice loved to cook, watch tv, was a socialite amongst her friends, and really loved her family. God called her home to be with Him, other family and friends (gone on before) on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Alice will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Lynwood Carroll Miles, Sr. of 41 years; daughters, Carol Felicia Miles Pride (Lawrence Pride, Jr.), Allison Lynette Miles; son, Lynwood Carroll Miles, Jr.; one brother, Gary Turner Sims, Jr.; three sisters, Emma Lewis (Caesar), Myrtle Jackson of Fayetteville, NC and Doris Crump (Crawford); six grandchildren, Cynthia, Tiffany, Samuel and William Johnson, Brad and Brandon Cox, all of Chesterfield, VA. Two great-grandsons, Isaiah and Ryan Johnson,; two brothers-in-law, Reginald Miles and Floyd Miles; seven sisters-in-law, Joyce Miles, Linda Ballard, Doretha Harris, Dr. E. Marlene Miles, Angela King (Brad), Vita Nash, and Julie Miles. A very devoted nieces, Cristal Grubbs and very devoted friends, Lucy Barley, Lillie Mae Royal, many other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
