Obituary of Albert Lorenzo Allen

Albert Lorenzo Allen was born to the late Annie "Bunny" and Albert "Hayes" Allen on January 23, 1969 in Farmville, Va. Lorenzo, as he was known by many was loveable, free spirited and full of laughter. He had a way of connecting with others with his jokes, teasing and being the life of the party. At an early age he was converted, baptized and joined the Mount Pero Baptist Church in Powhatan, Virginia. As a young man he joined the Petersville Baptist Church where his membership remains. Lorenzo graduated from Cumberland County Public School in 1987. He served in the U.S Army from 1986 to 1994 as a combat engineer in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. After an honorable discharge from the army he was employed at the James River Department of Correction Center until his health began to fail. Lorenzo enjoyed spending time with his friends along with watching sports, with the Dallas Cowboys being his favorite team. He loved playing board games and cards with spades being his favorite. He also worked on small engines, cars, and trucks. He was the oldest grandchild of Mary A. Royall in which he had a very special relationship with. He called her every morning just to say "I love you". He called her Blama as a toddler and that name stands for her throughout all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 8, 2012 at Southside Hospital he was called from labor to reward with his family by his side. He leaves to cherish many fond memories: a loving daughter Catrina Roe, of Brooklyn, NY; a devoted grandmother, Mary A. Royall; one sister, Ayesha Allen; one brother, Antonio Allen (Sharon) all of Cumberland, VA; one niece, Ahkiya Allen; one nephew, Antonio Allen, Jr.; six aunts, Lillian Allen, Bertha Davis (John), Margaret Sims (Nathaniel), Darlene Sims (David), Alease Royall and Jeraldine Seay (Monroe); five uncles, David Royall (Patricia), Wesley Royall (Wanda), Danny Royall (Kim), Earl Royall (Lileeta) and Jerry Royall (Crissy) and many, many devoted and special cousins, friends, and other relatives.
