Obituary of Lucille Johnson Shepperson

Lucille's life began on September 14, 1932 in Akien, South Carolina to Otis Johnson and Bertha Mims Johnson. In 1958 Lucille married Lester H. Shepperson, who preceded her in death. Out of this union came two daughters, Barbara Adrienne Shepperson and Arlene Shepperson Stevenson, who also preceded her in death. Lucille was also a grandparent and a "parent" to Adrienne R. Stevenson and Lester Lamont Stevenson. For 23 years, Lucille Shepperson worked as a long distance telephone operator for AT&T Telephone Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Upon retiring in 1990, she relocated to Meherrin, VA to enjoy her retired years. Lucille enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and working in the yard when she could. She enjoyed being around her friends, particularly Renee' Cassett, her MSNBC buddy and her other fun-loving buddy Rita Bromell. On the morning of Sunday, March 18, 2012 the soul of Lucille J. Shepperson took flight to the Kingdom of God for everlasting life. Lucille J. Sheppperson leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy; her daughter, Barbara A. Shepperson,; two grandchildren, Adrienne R. Stevenson Ramsey (Brandin L. Ramsey, Sr.) of Meherrin, VA and Lester L. Stevenson of Newport News, VA; two great- grand children, Brandin L. Ramsey, Jr. and Amiyah M. Ramsey of Meherrin, VA; one sister, Corrine Brown of Charlotte, NC one brother-in-law, Lornell Shepperson of Meherrin, VA.; one sister-in-law, Florine Gatlin of Brooklyn, NY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
