Obituary of Ernest Benjamin Green

Ernest Benjamin Green "Bennie", entered his eternal rest on December 16, 2011 at McGuire Veterans Hospital.
He was born November 13, 1937 in Powhatan, Virginia to Ernest and Addie Vaughn Green.
At an early age he was baptized and joined Pine Hill Baptist Church where he served as a trustee.
He was drafted in to the United States Army and served two years of active duty during the Vietnam War and six years in the Reserves.
Ernest met and married his life long partner Barbara Coleman on June 3, 1965. From this union two sons were born.
Ernest retired from Capital Freightliner as an excellent mechanic.
Ernest had a love for "salt water" fishing on his boat. He also enjoyed woodworking, where he made many tables, chairs, lamps and other furniture.
He leaves to cherish his loving and devoted wife of forty-six years, Barbara Green; two sons Tony V. Green, Sr., (Sylvia) and Al T. Green (Jean); one grandson, Tony Vincent Green Jr.; two sisters, Vassar Taylor of Powhatan and Julian Churchill (Ralph) of Williamsburg; two sisters-in-law, Ineatha Coleman and Vernelle Harvey; one brother-in-law, Jasper James (Nancy) and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; especially Harold and Becky Crewe and his army buddy, Freddie Bowen.
