Obituary of Gladys Christine Liggon

Gladys Christine Liggon, affectionately known as Tina a daughter of Amy Lee Liggon and the Late Milton Thomas Liggon, was born on April 27, 1964 in Cartersville, Va. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Gladys and Preston Rivers. She gave her life to Christ and attended Greater Works Christian Church Ministries of Cartersville, VA. Gladys was an organ donor. She donated her kidney, liver and heart stem to extend another's life. She was also a giver, she gave her clothes, shoes and various other items to the less fortunate. Gladys was a fighter, she fought the good fight, and on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 1:33am at age 47 Gladys went home to be with the Lord, She will be truly missed. Gladys leaves to cherish fond memories: five sisters, Patricia Davis (Tommy), Edith Liggon, Corlisa Liggon, Darlene Tyler (Charles), and Irene Anderson (James); one brother, Thomas Liggon (Alease); eight nieces, Dorrie Smith (DJ), Marinda Boatwright, Sharmechia Liggon, Jawana Anderson, Chelsea Tyler, Demetria Simmons, I-Mecka Anderson and Iesha Byakatonda; seven nephews, Miltwan Brown, Tavis Shelton, Frank Brown, Jamieyian Liggon (Shantell), Nathaniel Shelton, Bryan Rose, Darius Jones; two aunts, Maple Lewis and Mary Elizabeth Liggon; two great nieces; six great nephews; two friends that she thought of as sisters, Angela Bland Jefferson and Terry DeMena; one friend that she thought of as a brother, Gary Hunter; two devoted cousins, Frances Rose and Betty Gilliam and a host of relatives and friends.
